Kudos for the Burbank Police! They’ve cracked the case of the Vanished Books. They may have used Sherlockian logic to bring the miscreant to justice.
This is what my source tells me. The man who took out nearly 400 books from the Burbank Public Library under a false name apparently wanted the books because he is a writer and he is writing a book on the Armenian genocide. And I understand that Burbank was not the only library hit in the vanishing books caper.
The Police managed to locate the man at an address in Burbank and they recovered the missing books. I do not know whether the man was charged with a crime or handed a bill for the overdue charges on 392 books.
Now, I live with a freelance writer and I would suggest the library thief should do what my husband does when he is researching a topic– simply print up the Internet page by page. Most of what the library books reveal may also be revealed on the ‘net. I should know because we live with stacks of files and research.
